Let's Talk
About Race: Blacks and Whites
A safe-space for open, candid dialogue
and skill building
This highly interactive
workshop, is purposely focused on black and
white U. S. Americans. ** Led by two seasoned diversity
professionals, this workshop provides opportunities for authentic,
candid dialogue and for developing understanding and strategies that
build communication and support inclusion.
Our focus is on inclusion:
Diversity matters to everyone;
includes everyone.
Our trainers create a
safe environment for learning: “No blame; no shame.” “Diversity
matters to everyone; includes everyone.” with the clear
understanding that we don’t have to agree to be respectful; “to
understand and behave respectfully does not necessarily imply
agreement.”
Participants come away with a strong sense of
“time well spent” plus practical skills and tools that are effective,
transferable and sustainable.
What participants will
walk away with:
§
A
heightened understanding of the not-so-obvious
differences between blacks and whites in the
workplace
§
The
opportunity to raise issues in a safe space, in
real-time
§
The courage
to inquire in a healthy and productive manner across
racial lines
§
A greater
willingness to withhold judgment and seek more
information before leaping to conclusions
§
The
incentive to see and treat each other as individuals
§
Tools for
improving communication and productivity
Objectives are met
through a blend of dialogue, short presentations, small group breakouts,
hands-on communication tools and impromptu role plays by the
cross-racial co-facilitators.
**Separate sessions are
also available on other "pairs," i.e., Latinos and Blacks, Muslims and
Christians, etc. |
